The Salvation Army prioritizes the welfare of disadvantaged youth and we do everything we can to let kids be kids. Through preschools, daycare, youth-focused programs, camps, and special programs for at-risk youth, we help children and teens develop self-confidence and a strong character to prepare them for future success.
Our donors and community partners help provide much-needed support for suffering children and families across the Hawaiian and Pacific Islands—investing in addressing real concerns, providing hope for thousands of individuals and families, and strengthening our local community.
Liane's story, A Family Life Changed by The Salvation Army
Liane is connected to The Salvation Army in a myriad of ways. She is an employee, bible study attendee, and worship team leader, and active participant in various Salvation Army programs and community events. Her family members are also current or former employees, and are members at the Kroc Center.
When her daughter was promoted to glory in a tragic plane crash, The Salvation Army’s check-ins, prayers, meals, and emotional and spiritual support helped Liane and her family cope with their grief and the loss. Most importantly, Liane says The Salvation Army provided a healthy environment for her family to continue serving the community, taking the focus off themselves and putting it onto those who need it the most.
