Food Distribution - A Thank You Message
Vulnerable families across Oahu have been receiving support from The Salvation Army amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Jeraine is one of many Kapolei-area residents who have received food distribution packages from The Kroc Center Hawaii this year.
“My husband and I are both out of work,” she says, explaining that her son, daughter-in-law, and two grandsons also live with them. Though the family was financially stable prior to the COVID-19 crisis, things quickly took a turn for the worse.
“I was really worried, ‘cause my whole household lost their jobs because of the pandemic,” Jeraine explains. “I was worried about how we were gonna survive.”
She says that although her visit to The Kroc Center was for food, she received so much more than that.
“Coming here gave me hope,” she says. “I’m so grateful and thankful for all the donors that come out and support us ‘cause it’s really rough lately.”
She credits The Salvation Army for stepping up and helping Island residents in need during such a critical time, as well as all of the partners and donors who provide food and other supplies.
“I want to say ‘God bless” to all the companies that donated. May they be prosperous, and may we all be prosperous when this is all over. We appreciate every little thing that we get, and we’re thankful for the helping hands at this time.”
