Waialua, Oahu, HI [May 4, 2023] – The Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Island’s Division today announced their 2023 keiki summer camp season at Camp Homelani on Oahu’s North Shore. Six faith-based camp sessions will be offered from June 19 to July 28, 2023, for campers ages 7 to 17. The beachfront camp is located in Waialua and offers campers elective sessions in creative arts, STEM, music, sports and ocean recreation, dance, and more.

Themes vary by week and special Music Camp and Teen Camps are offered. For example, during Music Camp, campers take several classes in a music major they choose, ranging from ukulele, brass band, and hula. Campers also choose a creative elective to participate in. The week culminates in a final performance on Thursday evening.

“We’re excited to announce our Summer 2023 camp season and can’t wait to welcome campers for great educational and fun sessions, along with fellowship, healthy meals, and even traditional campfires,” said Rob Noland, Director of The Salvation Army’s Camp Homelani. “Camp offers many keiki their first time to get away from the cities and towns and into a new context. It’s a great way to put down electronic devices and take a break from gaming to get outdoors. And, oftentimes, campers are able to build relationships with other keiki that will last and impact them for a lifetime.”

Summer 2023 camp sessions are scheduled to include:

  • June 19-23 – SAY Camp, ages 7-17
  • June 26-30 – Discovery Camp No.1, ages 7-12
  • July 3-7 – Discovery Camp No. 2, ages 7-12
  • July 10-14 – Music & Creative Arts Camp, ages 8-17
  • July 17-21 – Discovery Camp No. 3, ages 7-12
  • July 24-28 – Teen Camp, ages 13-17

Registration fees are $300 per camper and include four nights of accommodations and meals, from Monday night to Friday morning. Scholarships are available. For more information and to complete camp registration forms, visit camphomelani.org or call (808) 440-1832.
