Waialua, Oahu, HI [June 29, 2023] – Campers at The Salvation Army’s Camp Homelani on Oahu’s North Shore can now test their physical and team skills in a outdoor Ninja-style obstacle course, believed to be the first outdoor Ninja course in Hawaii. The “Camp Homelani Fox Run Ninja Course,” dedicated Thursday in ceremonies at the Waialua beachfront camp, features a variety of elements including the “Flying Fox,” the “Fox Trap,” the “Fox in the Box,” and the “Fox Trot.” It’s all made possible from a $100,000 donation from Oldies 101.1 FM radio personality Dan Fox-Aregger.

“I feel the keiki of today need proper guidance and support to become educated and responsible adults and they receive this from The Salvation Army and Camp Homelani,” said Dan Fox-Aregger, radio personality and generous donor to The Salvation Army. “Exercise is paramount to attaining and maintaining good health. It is my hope that the Camp Homelani Fox Run Ninja Course will give the keiki enough of a challenge to exercise while having a lot of fun!”

“Dan Fox’s generous gift is truly a blessing to Camp Homelani,” said Rob Noland, Director of The Salvation Army’s Camp Homelani and Revolution Hawaii. “The Camp Homelani Fox Run Ninja Course will provide countless keiki and adults with a unique and challenging experience that will build character, instill self-esteem and infuse joy, helping Camp continue its mission to change lives for the better.”

A top-rated, on-air radio personality in Hawaii and California, known as the “Fox in the Box” here in Hawaii and "Danny Dare" in California, Fox-Aregger had a vision to provide a fun and safe space for keiki at Camp Homelani. His gift will touch the lives of generations of children and adults who gather, play, and build relationships at the camp.
